Well, I tried your driver, it seems to work fine on 5.0-2.
 
However, it doesn't want to get served correctly.
We have a two node cluster, an MVII with rd53 and ra81 type disks, and
a diskless VS2000.  as soon as I SYSGEN CONN VDn,  the device shows
up on the VS2000, sho dev says its served, sho dev/served shows it.
However it will not mount on the vaxstation 2000; mounts on the MVII fine.
I changed the vd device so that it thought it was a RD53 but this did'nt help
it any.  The error appearing on the VS2000 is 'Another volume with that 
label already mounted'
 
I would be very interested in being able to use the vd devices cluster wide.
