Either the card vendor needs to supply a driver or someone needs to persuade DEC to include one with VMS. This is the same situation as with Microsoft Windows. Either there is a driver included with Windows, or the vendor supplies a driver. Since DEC was using ATI cards for a while (still?), the *older* ATI cards will work just fine because DEC included support for them in VMS. > I have tried a Matrox Mystique and Genoa Phantom 64. I used an ATI Graphics Xpression (*not* 3D) and it worked great. It only cost about $99 plus $24 for extra memory (to allow 1280 x 1024). > (A DEC rep told me it was as simple as plug and play, but he > didn't mention anything about necessary configuration changes) This the person you need to beat on. > Any advice? Get a supported card, either one of DEC's or one that they supply a driver for. -- -- "From:" line deliberatly munged to prevent harvesting by spambots. -- Alan E.
