About: Meta-CVS manages an alternate representation for a file system tree that allows changes in the directory structure to be stored by the Concurrent Versions System (CVS). Acting as a CVS front end, it replaces the cvs command with mcvs, allowing one to mcvs checkout, mcvs add, mcvs update, and so on. mcvs mv, which has no corresponding cvs command, is also included. The directory structure is not only versioned but can be subject to outright parallel development with support for merging and conflict resolution. Diffs can be made over the MCVS representation, so diff and patch are effectively amplified to handle renames.
Changes: On import and add, the program now collects file suffixes and brings up an editor to let the user specify the CVS keyword expansion mode for each hitherto unknown file type. Selective commits are allowed now. Recursive add (mcvs add -R) works.

About: Bots 'n' Scouts is an addictive multiplayer game that can be played over the network, too. Robots make a race through an empty factory, but they need to be programmed for an entire turn in advance, so they don't always end up where the player wanted.
About: uSk and u are Xaw-based text editors for programmers. uSk features include undo/redo, file picker, menus and toolbar. u features the same text editing functionality but reduced grahical functions. Both present WordStar compatible control interfaces.
Changes: This is a beta release for evaluation.
About: Visual Oberon is an object-oriented library for writing portable GUI programs in X or Win32. It contains an extensive set of widgets with configurable look-and-feel. Visual Oberon implements the Model-View concept: several visible widgets can reflect a single internal model, and are automatically updated when the state of the model changes.
Changes: This version mainly fixes some initialization bugs.
About: GnuCash allows you to track bank accounts, stocks, income, and expenses. As quick and intuitive to use as a checkbook register, it is based on professional accounting principles to ensure balanced books and accurate reports. It is backed by an active development community and is blossoming into a full-fledged accounting system.
Changes: Translations for Dutch, Norwegian, Russian, Greek, French, German, Portuguese, Azerbaijani Turkic, and Slovak were updated or added. About: MIT Photonic Bands (MPB) is a free program to compute the band structures (dispersion relations) and electromagnetic modes of periodic dielectric structures, and is applicable to photonic crystals (photonic band-gap materials), optical waveguides, and a wide range of other optical problems. Its features include: fully-vectorial 3D computations, a flexible user interface based upon the GNU Guile scripting language, output in HDF format, and iterative, targeted eigensolver methods to address very large problems by solving for only a few states near a specified frequency. It runs on both serial machines and parallel machines with MPI.
Changes: Support for accessing electromagnetic fields within Scheme/Guile scripts was improved. Other minor improvements were made.
About: Otto2 is a new branch of the original project "Otto" by Jon Ferguson, an easy-to-use interface to all your music albums. You can use it to choose songs or full albums, or let it pick your music randomly. It supports many music formats, databases, and operating systems. It has integrated user directory-based music reading, to keep your and your friends' music separate and labeled. It is made to be fully usable in a home or work environment. Otto2 was written to revive the project after Jon Ferguson stopped working on it for two years. It contains many improvements, such as more playing control, more music format support, and faster and more expandable DBI database interaction.
Changes: Various pieces of horribly messy code were cleaned up. The core code in lib/otto2lib.pm was basically rewritten. All the icecast/shoutcast code was stripped out since it is outdated. Playing albums now works. The example files were fixed. downlnk was removed for now. lib/otto2config.pm was reconstructed. A path declaration in bin/addnewuser was fixed. bin/sukillsong.c was rewritten and made smarter.
About: Kylie is a lightweight Web browser for X.
Changes: Images, parsed documents, and downloaded files are now cached. Indentation in DL lists was fixed. White space other than ' ' is now allowed to separate tag names from parameters. A check was added to prevent img_read from crashing on failure.
About: Services for IRC Networks (or just Services for short) provides for definitive nickname and channel ownership, automatic channel mode setting, memo (short message) storage and retrieval, and greater IRC operator control over the network.
Changes: A bug in LINK which allowed guest nicks to be registered was fixed. A crash with Unreal and +S clients was fixed. Processing was optimized for MSNotifyAll with MemoServ SEND. The main OperServ module can no longer be unloaded via the OperServ REHASH command, since doing so would cause a crash. A crash which could occur if databases got corrupted was fixed. The CSRestrictDelay option was fixed so that it does not give free rides to users who would be unprivileged anyway, and it is now enabled by default (with a timeout of 15 seconds).
About: YAWNS is a(nother) Slash clone, written in Perl using the HTML::Template library. It is intended to comply with all relevant W3C standards. The output validates as 100% XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS2 compliant. YAWNS is ready for use now and is already being used by several Web sites.
Changes: The code was greatly cleaned up and reorganized. It now runs with 'use strict' enabled. Developers should definitely use this version. Non-developers need not worry about this release.
About: Eggdrop is an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) bot that can be extended using either C modules or Tool Command Language (TCL) scripts. Eggdrop is one of the oldest IRC bots still in active development, and it can be programmed to perform an endless amount of tasks.
Changes: nick2hand/hand2nick work properly again. Many common problems that caused the bot to crash were resolved, including flushmodes and stoned server checking. modconfig is now more portable across different platforms. Many documentation updates were made.
About: JPiccola is a Java implementation of Piccola (PI Calculus based COmposition LAnguage), an experimental language for composing applications from software components. It is defined by a thin layer of syntactic sugar on top of a semantic core based on Milner's pi calculus. Piccola is designed to make it easy to define high-level connectors for composing and coordinating software components written in other languages.
Changes: A new interpreter was written, and a new user interface was implemented.
About: Libglade is a small library that allows a program to load its user interface from an XML description at runtime. The XML file format is that of the user interface builder GLADE, so libglade acts as an alternative to GLADE's code generation approach. Libglade also provides a simple interface for connecting handlers to the various signals in the interface (on platforms where the gmodule library works correctly, it is possible to connect all the handlers with a single function call). Once the interface has been instantiated, libglade gives no overhead, so other than the initial interface loading time (which is short), there is no performance tradeoff.
Changes: Bugs in the handling of GtkLayout were fixed. Support for wmclass_class/wmclass_name properties on windows was added.
About: The CDDB/CDDB_get Perl module gets the CDDB info for an audio cd.
Changes: The information can now be saved in xmcd format. An untested feature for loading data directly into a database was added. A data flag for each track was added. A fix was made for "/" characters in an artist's name. The HTTP proxy recognition was fixed. All entries are returned if a flag is set. An RPM spec file is now included. A command for encoding the CD with LAME is now output.
About: Libcwd is a full-featured, professional, well-documented library to support C++ developers with debugging their applications. It includes support for ostream-based debug output, custom debug channels and devices, powerful memory allocation debugging, run-time sourcefile:linenumber information, and demangled type names of variables. Libcwd is thread-safe.
Changes: Minor bugs were fixed in the documentation. An API change was made: the macros related to configure-options have been renamed.
About: The purpose of the preview-latex package is to embed LaTeX environments such as display math or figures into Emacs source buffers. By mouse clicking, you can open the original text. After editing, another click will just run the region in question through LaTeX and redisplay the new results. It requires version 21.1 or higher of Emacs and AUC TeX. XEmacs support is not yet finished.
Changes: The focus of this release focus has been user interface improvements and documentation. The TeXinfo documentation now contains instructions for the currently used LaTeX style, and users of Emacs' desktop package will have previews survive into their next Emacs session. The LaTeX style now has an option for making TeX bounding boxes known to Dvips in case it gets them wrong. Due to a defective backport of security handling, GNU GhostScript-6.53 failed to work with version 0.6. The incomplete functionality is no longer used.
About: autopilot is a command and control system for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. It provides hands-off flight controls for helicopters and simple "moving map" control for the ground station. Manual control is similar to operation under IFR with three axis EFIS.
Changes: This release adds an OpenGL helicopter simulator for testing out the inertial measurement system (IMU) and for calibrating the attitude/heading reference (AHRS). The inertial data, either from the simulator or from the IMU on the real helicopter, feeds into a Kalman filter that can run on the ground station or on the realtime board.
About: Camserv is an extremely modular program for streaming video from your Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, and BSDi machine to Web clients. Filters can be added for text on the displayed window and for anything else one wants to add. It's also very portable because of the modularity of the camera plugin modules, and includes a relay agent which allows the stream to be run more easily on low-bandwidth connections, masqueraded machines, and less-powerful machines. The relay agent can be connected to another relay agent for endless mirroring and paths.
Changes: This change includes patches from various contributors and numerous bugfixes in both the build and installation layouts. The gdk-pixbuf and imlib2 filters should now work properly.
About: phpWebThings is a set of PHP classes for creating a cool Web site with user login, news, forum, user messages, downloads, FAQs, and more. It allows the Webmaster to create his own site with freedom, using only the features he wants, and allowing new features to be added easily.
Changes: This test release has more features, fewer bugs, more modules, more statistics, and more tables. Users who are upgrading from test4 should note that some fields in wt_users have been changed.
About: Cacti is a complete frontend to rrdtool. It stores all of the nessesary information to create graphs and populate them with data in a MySQL database. The frontend is completely PHP driven. Along with being able to maintain Graphs, Data Sources, and Round Robin Archives in a database, cacti also handles the data gathering. There is SNMP support for those used to creating traffic graphs with MRTG.
Changes: Multiple data sources per .rrd file are now supported. Many user control features have been added, such as graph based permissions and control over which graph sections a user can view. There are now more features when creating graphs with graph grouping and command line output preview.
About: Warewulf is presently a distribution builder for the slave nodes in a cluster. The filesystem is written to a bootable ISO image that should be burned to a CDROM. The scope of the project consists of the slave node distribution builder, cluster management tools, and basic monitoring tools. These tools will allow you to run any Linux distribution, kernel, or cluster libraries that you wish. It also allows one to create "temporary" clusters using workstations without writing anything to the disks.
Changes: Several bugs in the breed script with regard to the building the initrd and running out of space were fixed. The warewulfd, wwjobs, and wwcontrol scripts were added. The binaries and libraries used in the boot-tree and initrd-tree were stripped. Configuration options were added to use any networking device.
