OpenOffice 627 test results

[full Build 627 test results]

Build 627 linux - intel (RH6.2) test failures

  • fails to open document type *.xpm correctly.
  • Insert fields
  • Insert Cross Reference
  • Format Styles
  • Format Numbering/Bullets
  • spellcheck-hypenation
  • ctrl - shift -j correctly puts the display into full screen mode, however the second ctrl-shift-j returns the window border to full screen size (i.e. not the original size it was before the first ctrl-shift-j) The top and bottom vertical border are extended so far it cannot be namually resized.
  • The original openoffice.org frame will not close on issuing file - exit, it will close on a file - close.
  • does not recognise directory softlinks correctly.
  • On Red Hat 6.2 the font (depend on font) size in text documents is incorrect. The fonts appear as font size 6, appears corrupt and cannot be changed.
  • bad fonts:- clean, helvetica, lucida, lucidabright, lucidatypewriter, new century schoolbook, symbol, terminal, times, utopia.
  • good fonts:- charter, courier, Fansong ti, fixed, gothic, Interface user, mincho, song ti.

Build 627 solaris8 - sparc test failures

  • fails to open file tpye .xpm correctly
  • spellcheck-hypenation
  • ctrl - shift -j correctly puts the display into full screen mode, however the second ctrl-shift-j returns the window border to full screen size (i.e. not the original size it was before the first ctrl-shift-j), but resizes the openoffice term within it to it's original size. This is a nasty bug as the borders are now so far out both vertical and horizontal, the user cannot regain control of his terminal. executing an exit shuts down openoffice but the border remains. To regain control of the terminal the user must remotely log in from another system and kill Xsession, requiring the user to log in again.
  • On the menu bar selecting, Tools, Bibliography Database causes openoffice to exit with the following error message:
ld.so.1: (install path)/program/soffice.bin: fatal: relocation error:
    file (install path)/program/libfwk627ss.so:symbol
    _1cHBmkMenu2t6MrknGString_3_v:
    reference symbol not found.

  • does not recognise directory softlinks correctly.

Build 627 win32intel test failures

  • no test failures.

Issues

Building:
  • There is a new external build requirement: the General Polygon Clipping library gpc. The sources are available at www.cs.man.ac.uk/~amurta/software and should be unpacked at $SRC_ROOT/external/gpc.
  • bootstrap will source the environment settings file (i.e. the file LinuxIntelEnv.Set if you work on Linux). So if you run bootstrap, the explicit source LinuxIntelEnv.Set is not necessary. If dmake after bootstrap responds with "permission denied", do a rehash.

Functionality

Spreadsheet

  • Class International is not used anymore for locale dependent string comparisons. The UNOtools/CollatorWrapper is used instead.
  • Two additional list boxes in the dialog /Data/Sort/Options tab page now exist where locale dependent collator algorithms can be chosen as they are provided by I18N components. A special (preselected) entry for language "System" will sort according to the default algorithm of the system's locale, which resembles the old behavior. Future versions will store and load the settings with the XML file format.

Presentation/Drawing

  • Text objects support font effect "Relief", this attribute can be set in the "format character" dialog

Database

  • A new index design for tables is available. This component has been completely rewritten and shares neither code nor layout with the old implementation (in SO 5.2).
  • In the explorer pane of the data source browser, tables and queries can now be copied between data sources (using Drag'n'Drop or the clipboard-related entries in the context menu). For this you need to drag/copy an object (table or query) onto/into an arbitrary object container ('tables'/'queries') of an arbitrary data source.

Modules

dependency chart - graphic representation of module dependencies

New modules:

  • salhelper (project UDK)
  • idlc (project UDK) (depends on registry)

New directories:

  • xml2cmp\source\finder
  • connectivity\source\types
  • desktop\win32\source (WINDOWS only)
  • drafts\com\sun\star\awt
  • dtrans\source\win32\mtaole(WINDOWS only)
  • extensions\util
  • framework\source\threadhelp
  • scptools\source\check
  • ucbhelper\unotypes
  • wizards\source\config
  • wizards\source\importwizard
  • wizards\source\webwizard

Dependency changes:

  • registry depends on salhelper
  • testtools depends on cppuhelper, not ucbhelper
  • chaos depends on tools
  • dependencies inside module connectivity changed (see connectivity/prj/build.lst)
  • svx depends on linguistic
  • ucb does not depend on svtools or tools
  • ucbhelper does not depend on offuh
  • xmloff depends on draft

The external berkeley database has been updated to version 3.2.9. As a consequence some dynamically linked libraries and a jar file are renamed.

In the new module idlc a new idl compiler gets built which replaces the old unoidl. Therefore udkapi does not depend on unoidl any more but needs idlc to be built before.
