A Little background on what an I-Opener is...

The I-Opener is an internet device sold by Netpliance (also available at circuit city) for $99.00.
It runs there custom software under QNX and only using their own dialup service

What's inside of the I-Opener:

CPU         WINChip C6 180MHz
MEM       32MB Dram (SODIMM)
Storage     16MB Sandisk Flash On Board
Display     10" color lcd 800x600 16bpp / Cyberblade i7 Video Chip UMA  XF86Config
Sound        Yamaha YMF715 Stereo Speakers  I Used The OSS Drivers $20.00
Modem      56k internal modem on Com1 not a softmodem 8) `
Keyboard   Net KB with built in mouse PS/2 Comp. No ESC KEY 8(
See below hot to make a cable to use a standard PS/2 kb and mouse
Printer        Standard LPT Port
USB            1 Usb Port
To get in setup use control+alt+esc

Ok, now to the hack !!

To get this puppy running Linux, you need to add a 2.5" hard drive (unless you can get it all in 16mb of flash) and you must do the install on another
machine because there is no floppy to boot from.
This unit has an internal 44pin ide header but they mirrored the pinout so you have to swap every two wires (pin 1 on hd is pin 2 on motherboard)
i will post a full diag soon...

As you can see above, you need to make a bracket to mount the hd, I used an aluminum bracket mounted off the heatsink.
Here is a view from the backside. You also have to notch the heatsink for the ide connector to fit.

And here is a closeup of the ide cable

Here is the sch of the ide cable

Keyboard and Mouse Pinout

Standard 6 Pin PS/2 Connector

1    kb data
2    mouse data
3    gnd
4    +5V
5    kb Clock
6    Mouse Clock

So just get  2 female and 1 male ps/2 connector and make a Y cable for mouse and keyboard

Second serial pinout (not complete) CN12
1 TX
2 RX
3
4
5 RTS
6
7
8
9 GND
10 +5V

Vga Port CN1
1 R
2
3 G
4
5 B
6
7 H
8
9 V
10 GND

Here it is running Mandrake 7 and Enlightenment:

Here it is running win 98 (no flames please):

And here it is running BeOS in 800x600 16bpp. Thanks to Scot Hacker, the BeOS God.
