You can hack the X11r4 (I haven't tried the X11r5) xset utility quite easily to work on VMS. Then instead of restarting DECwindows, you can do a xset fp + sys$common:[sysfont.decw.user_100dpi] xset fp rehash This will append the font path and reread the fonts.alias files. The VMS DECwindows fonts.alias file is DECW$FONT_ALIAS_COMMON.DAT. I think sys$common:[sysfont.decw.user_100dpi] should already exist., just add fonts, do the mkfontdir, and you can add aliases to the alias file. I you add a new directory that everyone will use regularly, you will want to modify the decwindow startup file that contains the DECW$FONT logical to specify the default font directories. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dwight D.
