The command shown below:
 
	$ ASSIGN NONE DBG$PROCESS
 
will force the VAX/VMS debugger to "normal terminal" mode, even 
on a workstation screen. It is extremely useful on machines with 
severe resource limits, where the windowed version of the 
debugger is unbearably slow. Warning, I believe that this is 
"officially" an unsupported option.
