I sit corrected. > The name used in the DECW$SERVER_TRANSPORTS >is used to locate the image > > SYS$SHARE:DECW$TRANSPORT_.EXE Okay. [Although seems to me I saw somewhere that DEC wants all DEC-defined transports to take that form and non-DEC transports are supposed to be SYS$SHARE:DECW_TRANSPORT_.EXE ] And the transport name for the CMU TCP/IP package is called "CMU" and not "TCPIP". As I mis-explained, "TCPIP" is the name used by DEC's own product(s) UCX and TCP/IP for VMS or whatever they call it this month. Okay okay okay DEC didn't reserve the name, but it is the one that THEY use for their software. I would almost consider that a 'reserved' name. If you really want to confuse your system you can copy decw$server_decnet.exe to decw$server_tcpip.exe and call decnet connections 'tcpip'. In either case, "CMU" is the name you need to specify for the CMU package in your definition for decw$server_transports. To be more complete, let me attempt to summarize the transports that I know: decw$server_transports value transport via: --------------------- -------------- LOCAL local workstation DECNET DECnet LAT LAT TCPIP UCX CMU CMU TEKIP TCP/IP software ??? TGV's Multinet WIN? Wollongong ??? Fusion ??? Process ??? ??? You get the idea... So, as the original poster asked, if you want to enable DECnet, CMU TEKIP, local and LAT connections you want the line in DECW$PRIVATE_SERVER_SETUP.COM to read something like: $ decw$server_transports == "DECNET,LOCAL,LAT,CMU" ____________________________________________________________________________ Harvey Brydon | Internet: brydon@asl.sinet.slb.com Schlumberger Anadrill | FAX: (713)274-8399 200 Macco Blvd | Telex: 1565030001 SINET ASL SLB Sugar Land, TX 77478 | P.O.T.S.: (713)274-8000 x8281 or 274-8281 (d.i.d.)
